We place across Kondapuram and the wider Andhra Pradesh region. If a large dog does not suit your hours, we will say so — that conversation is free and saves everyone the harder one later.
Apartment living: what actually matters
Balconies need grilles before a Afghan Hound Puppy comes home, not after. Beyond that, apartment life suits this breed well: it wants company more than square footage, and a Kondapuram flat with people in it beats a large empty house.
Settling in with children and other pets
Give the resident pet the higher ground and the first choice of space. A new large dog entering an established household is the intruder, and letting the existing animal keep its status shortens the adjustment considerably.
Weather, coat and the Andhra Pradesh year
the air stays humid through much of the year, so coat and skin care need attention For a Afghan Hound Puppy that means grooming is not cosmetic - it is how you catch problems early. Ten minutes twice a week, hands through the coat, and you will find the tick or the hot spot while it is still nothing.
Health records you should insist on
Ask for the vaccination card, the deworming dates and the pre-handover vet note. You should be able to read them before you pay. We provide all three with every Afghan Hound Puppy; if any seller cannot, treat that as the answer.
Feeding a large dog without guesswork
Match the food to the adult size, not the current one. A large breed grows into its requirement over months, and switching brands abruptly will upset it - phase any change over a week. Fresh water, changed twice daily, matters more than the brand you choose.
What a Afghan Hound Puppy costs in Kondapuram
Expect ₹78,285 upward. Price tracks documentation and age, so the cheapest listing is usually the one missing the paperwork you were told to insist on. Budget separately for the first year's vet work.
Afghan Hound Puppy price, and the cost after it
₹78,285 to ₹78,285 for the dog. Then plan a similar amount again for year one. Anyone selling you a Afghan Hound Puppy without mentioning that second number is selling rather than advising.
Health and handover
Every Afghan Hound Puppy is checked, vaccinated and dewormed before listing. Keep the paperwork somewhere you will find it in a year: booster schedules run from the original dates, and a large dog moving to a new vet needs that history intact.
Raising a Afghan Hound in Kondapuram: local climate
Kondapuram is hottest in April, averaging 41°C in the afternoon, and stays above 38°C from March to May. A Afghan Hound needs real protection from that because a large body sheds heat slowly: walks before 8 am and after 7 pm, a cool tiled floor or a cooler in the afternoons, fresh water in more than one place, and never a parked car.
Winters are mild, with January nights around 16°C, so cold is not a concern.
There is no long rainy season; what rain there is falls mostly in September.
For a new Afghan Hound puppy, the easiest months to arrive are January, June, July, August, October, November and December: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
| Month | Jan | Feb | Mar | Apr | May | Jun | Jul | Aug | Sep | Oct | Nov | Dec |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| High °C | 32 | 36 | 39 | 41 | 40 | 34 | 34 | 33 | 32 | 31 | 30 | 30 |
| Low °C | 16 | 18 | 22 | 26 | 27 | 25 | 24 | 23 | 23 | 22 | 19 | 17 |
| Rain mm | 4 | 2 | 12 | 24 | 63 | 81 | 90 | 96 | 147 | 100 | 36 | 8 |
Climate figures: NASA POWER long-term monthly averages for a roughly 50 km area around the city, so rain near hills or the coast can read higher than in the city itself.

Care Tips for Afghan Hound Puppy
Your week with a Afghan Hound Puppy, reduced to what actually matters.
- Grooming: ten minutes twice a week, hands through the coat. You find the tick while it is still nothing.

- Floors: runners over polished granite before it arrives, not after the first slip.
- Food: portion by weight, adjust monthly, no table scraps from day one.
- Balcony: grilles up before the Afghan Hound Puppy comes home.
