Buy Shih Tzu in Holagunda, Andhra Pradesh
We place across Holagunda and the wider Andhra Pradesh region. If a small dog does not suit your hours, we will say so — that conversation is free and saves everyone the harder one later.
Weather, coat and the Andhra Pradesh year
moisture in the air can encourage skin and ear issues if grooming slips For a Shih Tzu that means grooming is not cosmetic - it is how you catch problems early. Ten minutes twice a week, hands through the coat, and you will find the tick or the hot spot while it is still nothing.
Health records you should insist on
Ask for the vaccination card, the deworming dates and the pre-handover vet note. You should be able to read them before you pay. We provide all three with every Shih Tzu; if any seller cannot, treat that as the answer.
Is a Shih Tzu a sensible choice for you in Holagunda?
Ask yourself who walks it at seven in the morning. That one question decides more Shih Tzu placements in Holagunda than price does. If the answer is genuinely nobody, look at a lower-energy breed instead - we will help you do that.
What a Shih Tzu costs in Holagunda
Between ₹24,055 and ₹24,055 covers most placements here. Where yours falls depends on lineage and how old the dog is at handover - an older, fully vaccinated Shih Tzu costs more up front and less in the first months.
Your first fortnight, step by step
Do not introduce a small Shih Tzu to the whole building in week one. Let it learn your flat first. Everything else - lift, lobby, other residents - goes better when the dog already has one place it considers its own.
Apartment living: what actually matters
Balconies need grilles before a Shih Tzu comes home, not after. Beyond that, apartment life suits this breed well: it wants company more than square footage, and a Holagunda flat with people in it beats a large empty house.
What you will pay
Expect ₹24,055 upward, to around ₹24,055. Price tracks documentation and age, so the cheapest listing is usually the one missing the records you should insist on. Budget separately for the first year — food, boosters and one unplanned vet visit will each outweigh the purchase over 10-16 Years.
Records to insist on
Ask for the vaccination card, the deworming dates and the pre-handover vet note, and read them before you pay. We provide all three. Insist on originals — a genuine record names the vet and carries dates you can verify.
Raising a Shih Tzu in Holagunda: local climate
Holagunda is hottest in April, averaging 40°C in the afternoon, and stays above 38°C from March to May. A Shih Tzu needs real protection from that because its short muzzle makes panting less effective at shedding heat and its double coat holds heat close to the body: walks before 8 am and after 7 pm, a cool tiled floor or a cooler in the afternoons, fresh water in more than one place, and never a parked car.
Winters are mild, with December nights around 16°C, so cold is not a concern.
There is no long rainy season; what rain there is falls mostly in September.
For a new Shih Tzu puppy, the easiest months to arrive are July, August, October, November and December: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
| Month | Jan | Feb | Mar | Apr | May | Jun | Jul | Aug | Sep | Oct | Nov | Dec |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| High °C | 32 | 35 | 38 | 40 | 39 | 33 | 32 | 32 | 31 | 31 | 30 | 31 |
| Low °C | 16 | 18 | 22 | 25 | 25 | 23 | 22 | 22 | 22 | 20 | 18 | 16 |
| Rain mm | 2 | 2 | 15 | 26 | 62 | 73 | 85 | 88 | 130 | 83 | 24 | 3 |
Climate figures: NASA POWER long-term monthly averages for a roughly 50 km area around the city, so rain near hills or the coast can read higher than in the city itself.

A practical checklist for a small dog in a Holagunda flat.
- Routine: fixed meals, fixed sleeping spot, one person feeding for the first fortnight.
- Paws: check between the pads after every walk.
- Company: a bold breed does badly with eleven empty hours. Arrange a break in the day.
- Neighbours: corridor manners in month one buy goodwill you will need later.
- Vet: registered before you need one, not during an emergency.
