We place across Durgi and the wider Andhra Pradesh region. If a giant dog does not suit your hours, we will say so — that conversation is free and saves everyone the harder one later.
Your first fortnight, step by step
Week one: keep the dog to two rooms, same feeding times daily, no visitors. Week two: widen the space, start short outdoor trips once the vaccination schedule allows. Rushing either half is the most common mistake we see with a new Saint Bernard Puppy.
Health records you should insist on
Keep the paperwork somewhere you will find it in a year. Booster schedules run on the original dates, and a giant dog moving to a new vet needs that history intact.
Weather, coat and the Andhra Pradesh year
humid coastal, and the sea-influenced humidity makes ventilation and dry bedding important Your practical takeaway: brush more often than the breed guides suggest, keep the dog dry through the wet months, and check between the pads after walks. Skin trouble here starts damp and gets ignored.
Is a Saint Bernard Puppy a sensible choice for you in Durgi?
Start with your week, not the breed. If you are out of the flat eleven hours a day, a family friendly Saint Bernard Puppy will not fill the gap quietly - it will find something to do and you will not like it. If someone is home, this breed settles into Durgi without much drama.
Settling in with children and other pets
Introduce slowly and supervise every early meeting. A family friendly Saint Bernard Puppy is usually good with children, but 'usually' is doing work in that sentence - the first fortnight sets the pattern for 10-12 Years.
Feeding a giant dog without guesswork
Skip the table scraps entirely, however hard the dog lobbies. A Saint Bernard Puppy that learns the dining table is a food source will keep asking for 10-12 Years. Set that boundary in week one and you never have to revisit it.
Saint Bernard Puppy price, and the cost after it
₹39,369 to ₹39,369 for the dog. Then plan a similar amount again for year one. Anyone selling you a Saint Bernard Puppy without mentioning that second number is selling rather than advising.
Records to insist on
Ask for the vaccination card, the deworming dates and the pre-handover vet note, and read them before you pay. We provide all three. Insist on originals — a genuine record names the vet and carries dates you can verify.
Raising a Saint Bernard in Durgi: local climate
Durgi is hottest in May, averaging 41°C in the afternoon, and stays above 38°C from March to May. A Saint Bernard needs real protection from that because its double coat holds heat close to the body and a giant body sheds heat slowly: walks before 8 am and after 7 pm, a cool tiled floor or a cooler in the afternoons, fresh water in more than one place, and never a parked car.
Winters are mild, with January nights around 17°C, so cold is not a concern.
There is no long rainy season; what rain there is falls mostly in August.
For a new Saint Bernard puppy, the easiest months to arrive are October to January: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
| Month | Jan | Feb | Mar | Apr | May | Jun | Jul | Aug | Sep | Oct | Nov | Dec |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| High °C | 31 | 35 | 38 | 41 | 41 | 35 | 33 | 32 | 31 | 31 | 30 | 29 |
| Low °C | 17 | 19 | 22 | 25 | 28 | 26 | 25 | 24 | 24 | 22 | 19 | 17 |
| Rain mm | 7 | 6 | 13 | 20 | 38 | 95 | 127 | 145 | 141 | 113 | 35 | 9 |
Climate figures: NASA POWER long-term monthly averages for a roughly 50 km area around the city, so rain near hills or the coast can read higher than in the city itself.

Care Tips for Saint Bernard Puppy
A practical checklist for a giant dog in a Durgi flat.
- Routine: fixed meals, fixed sleeping spot, one person feeding for the first fortnight.
- Paws: check between the pads after every walk.
- Company: a family friendly breed does badly with eleven empty hours. Arrange a break in the day.
- Neighbours: corridor manners in month one buy goodwill you will need later.
- Vet: registered before you need one, not during an emergency.
