What is listed for Akividu is what we can place. Ask us before you decide: we would rather steer you to a different dog that fits your schedule than sell you the Shih Tzu you asked for and hear about it in six months.
Settling in with children and other pets
Teach the children the rules before the Shih Tzu arrives: no disturbing it while eating, no picking it up, and let it come to them. Children who learn that get a dog that seeks them out.
Apartment living: what actually matters
Balconies need grilles before a Shih Tzu comes home, not after. Beyond that, apartment life suits this breed well: it wants company more than square footage, and a Akividu flat with people in it beats a large empty house.
Weather, coat and the Andhra Pradesh year
coastal tropical, and moisture in the air can encourage skin and ear issues if grooming slips Your practical takeaway: brush more often than the breed guides suggest, keep the dog dry through the wet months, and check between the pads after walks. Skin trouble here starts damp and gets ignored.
Feeding a small dog without guesswork
Portion by weight and adjust monthly. The Shih Tzu will tell you it is starving regardless; your vet's target weight is the honest signal. Overfeeding in the first year is the single most common thing we correct.
Your first fortnight, step by step
Do not introduce a small Shih Tzu to the whole building in week one. Let it learn your flat first. Everything else - lift, lobby, other residents - goes better when the dog already has one place it considers its own.
Is a Shih Tzu a sensible choice for you in Akividu?
You are choosing a 10-16 Years commitment, so be unsentimental for a minute. A small dog in a Akividu apartment works when the building allows pets, the lift is reliable, and someone can break up the day. Two out of three is usually not enough.
Shih Tzu price, and the cost after it
₹24,055 to ₹24,055 for the dog. Then plan a similar amount again for year one. Anyone selling you a Shih Tzu without mentioning that second number is selling rather than advising.
Health and handover
Every Shih Tzu is checked, vaccinated and dewormed before listing. Keep the paperwork somewhere you will find it in a year: booster schedules run from the original dates, and a small dog moving to a new vet needs that history intact.
Raising a Shih Tzu in Akividu: local climate
Summer here peaks in May at about 37°C. That is manageable for a Shih Tzu, but watch it closely because its short muzzle makes panting less effective at shedding heat and its double coat holds heat close to the body: keep activity to the cooler ends of the day and a shaded, ventilated spot indoors.
Winters stay warm, with even January nights around 19°C, so there is no cold season to plan for.
The rainy season runs from July to October, and October is usually the wettest month. Check for ticks after every walk; dry the coat right down to the skin after it gets wet, or it can develop skin infections.
For a new Shih Tzu puppy, the easiest months to arrive are November to January: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
| Month | Jan | Feb | Mar | Apr | May | Jun | Jul | Aug | Sep | Oct | Nov | Dec |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| High °C | 30 | 33 | 36 | 37 | 37 | 34 | 32 | 30 | 30 | 30 | 29 | 29 |
| Low °C | 19 | 20 | 23 | 26 | 28 | 27 | 26 | 25 | 25 | 24 | 21 | 19 |
| Rain mm | 5 | 11 | 9 | 21 | 51 | 141 | 190 | 179 | 188 | 216 | 78 | 22 |
Climate figures: NASA POWER long-term monthly averages for a roughly 50 km area around the city, so rain near hills or the coast can read higher than in the city itself.

Care Tips for Shih Tzu | Black Color
A practical checklist for a small dog in a Akividu flat.
- Routine: fixed meals, fixed sleeping spot, one person feeding for the first fortnight.
- Paws: check between the pads after every walk.
- Company: a bold breed does badly with eleven empty hours. Arrange a break in the day.
- Neighbours: corridor manners in month one buy goodwill you will need later.
- Vet: registered before you need one, not during an emergency.
