We place across Kollam and the wider Kerala region. If a medium cat does not suit your hours, we will say so — that conversation is free and saves everyone the harder one later.
Settling in with children and other pets
Give the resident pet the higher ground and the first choice of space. A new medium cat entering an established household is the intruder, and letting the existing animal keep its status shortens the adjustment considerably.
What a Bombay Kittens costs in Kollam
Expect ₹31,901 upward. Price tracks documentation and age, so the cheapest listing is usually the one missing the paperwork you were told to insist on. Budget separately for the first year's vet work.
Weather, coat and the Kerala year
humid coastal, and the air stays humid through much of the year, so coat and skin care need attention Your practical takeaway: brush more often than the breed guides suggest, keep the cat dry through the wet months, and check between the pads after walks. Skin trouble here starts damp and gets ignored.
Health records you should insist on
Keep the paperwork somewhere you will find it in a year. Booster schedules run on the original dates, and a medium cat moving to a new vet needs that history intact.
Is a Bombay Kittens a sensible choice for you in Kollam?
Start with your week, not the breed. If you are out of the flat eleven hours a day, a highly social Bombay Kittens will not fill the gap quietly - it will find something to do and you will not like it. If someone is home, this breed settles into Kollam without much drama.
Feeding a medium cat without guesswork
Match the food to the adult size, not the current one. A medium breed grows into its requirement over months, and switching brands abruptly will upset it - phase any change over a week. Fresh water, changed twice daily, matters more than the brand you choose.
Bombay Kittens price, and the cost after it
₹31,901 to ₹31,901 for the cat. Then plan a similar amount again for year one. Anyone selling you a Bombay Kittens without mentioning that second number is selling rather than advising.
Records to insist on
Ask for the vaccination card, the deworming dates and the pre-handover vet note, and read them before you pay. We provide all three. Insist on originals — a genuine record names the vet and carries dates you can verify.
Raising a Bombay in Kollam: local climate
Summer here peaks in March at about 35°C. That is manageable for a Bombay: keep activity to the cooler ends of the day and a shaded, ventilated spot indoors.
Winters stay warm, with even January nights around 21°C, so there is no cold season to plan for.
The rainy season runs from May to November, and October is usually the wettest month. Dry the coat right down to the skin after it gets wet, or it can develop skin infections.
For a new Bombay kitten, the easiest months to arrive are December to February: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
| Month | Jan | Feb | Mar | Apr | May | Jun | Jul | Aug | Sep | Oct | Nov | Dec |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| High °C | 31 | 34 | 35 | 33 | 31 | 29 | 28 | 28 | 29 | 29 | 29 | 29 |
| Low °C | 21 | 22 | 24 | 26 | 26 | 25 | 24 | 24 | 24 | 24 | 23 | 22 |
| Rain mm | 15 | 27 | 59 | 132 | 228 | 306 | 239 | 206 | 236 | 320 | 221 | 54 |
Climate figures: NASA POWER long-term monthly averages for a roughly 50 km area around the city, so rain near hills or the coast can read higher than in the city itself.
