Weather, coat and the Karnataka year
The year splits into a dry half and a wet half, and a medium cat notices both. the plateau climate is relatively moderate, which suits a wide range of breeds Adjust walk times in the heat and drying routine in the rain, and the Russian Blue Kitten will barely register the change.
Settling in with children and other pets
Teach the children the rules before the Russian Blue Kitten arrives: no disturbing it while eating, no picking it up, and let it come to them. Children who learn that get a cat that seeks them out.
Russian Blue Kitten price, and the cost after it
₹55,986 to ₹55,986 for the cat. Then plan a similar amount again for year one. Anyone selling you a Russian Blue Kitten without mentioning that second number is selling rather than advising.
Health and handover
Every Russian Blue Kitten is checked, vaccinated and dewormed before listing. Keep the paperwork somewhere you will find it in a year: booster schedules run from the original dates, and a medium cat moving to a new vet needs that history intact.
Raising a Russian Blue in Udupi: local climate
Summer here peaks in March at about 35°C. That is manageable for a Russian Blue: keep activity to the cooler ends of the day and a shaded, ventilated spot indoors.
Winters stay warm, with even January nights around 21°C, so there is no cold season to plan for.
The rainy season runs from June to October, and July is usually the wettest month. Dry the coat right down to the skin after it gets wet, or it can develop skin infections.
For a new Russian Blue kitten, the easiest months to arrive are January, February, April, November and December: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.

Care Tips for Russian Blue Kitten
Your week with a Russian Blue Kitten, reduced to what actually matters.
- Grooming: ten minutes twice a week, hands through the coat. You find the tick while it is still nothing.

- Floors: runners over polished granite before it arrives, not after the first slip.
- Food: portion by weight, adjust monthly, no table scraps from day one.
