We place across Navalgund and the wider Karnataka region. If a medium cat does not suit your hours, we will say so — that conversation is free and saves everyone the harder one later.
Settling in with children and other pets
Teach the children the rules before the Himalayan Kittens arrives: no disturbing it while eating, no picking it up, and let it come to them. Children who learn that get a cat that seeks them out.
Your first fortnight, step by step
Set the routine before you set the affection. Fixed meal times, a fixed sleeping spot, and a fixed person doing the feeding for the first fortnight. A Himalayan Kittens reads consistency as safety, and a settled cat learns faster.
Weather, coat and the Karnataka year
mild tropical plateau, and comfortable temperatures for most of the year make routine care straightforward Your practical takeaway: brush more often than the breed guides suggest, keep the cat dry through the wet months, and check between the pads after walks. Skin trouble here starts damp and gets ignored.
Is a Himalayan Kittens a sensible choice for you in Navalgund?
Start with your week, not the breed. If you are out of the flat eleven hours a day, a sweet & calm Himalayan Kittens will not fill the gap quietly - it will find something to do and you will not like it. If someone is home, this breed settles into Navalgund without much drama.
Apartment living: what actually matters
Balconies need grilles before a Himalayan Kittens comes home, not after. Beyond that, apartment life suits this breed well: it wants company more than square footage, and a Navalgund flat with people in it beats a large empty house.
Feeding a medium cat without guesswork
Portion by weight and adjust monthly. The Himalayan Kittens will tell you it is starving regardless; your vet's target weight is the honest signal. Overfeeding in the first year is the single most common thing we correct.
Himalayan Kittens price, and the cost after it
₹28,881 to ₹28,881 for the cat. Then plan a similar amount again for year one. Anyone selling you a Himalayan Kittens without mentioning that second number is selling rather than advising.
Records to insist on
Ask for the vaccination card, the deworming dates and the pre-handover vet note, and read them before you pay. We provide all three. Insist on originals — a genuine record names the vet and carries dates you can verify.
Raising a Himalayan in Navalgund: local climate
Navalgund is hottest in April, averaging 38°C in the afternoon. A Himalayan needs real protection from that because its short muzzle makes panting less effective at shedding heat and its double coat holds heat close to the body: a cool room with the curtains drawn in the afternoon, a tiled floor to lie on, and fresh water in more than one place.
Winters are mild, with December nights around 15°C, so cold is not a concern.
There is no long rainy season; what rain there is falls mostly in September.
For a new Himalayan kitten, the easiest months to arrive are June to January: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
| Month | Jan | Feb | Mar | Apr | May | Jun | Jul | Aug | Sep | Oct | Nov | Dec |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| High °C | 31 | 34 | 37 | 38 | 36 | 31 | 29 | 29 | 29 | 30 | 30 | 30 |
| Low °C | 15 | 17 | 20 | 23 | 23 | 22 | 21 | 20 | 20 | 19 | 17 | 15 |
| Rain mm | 1 | 2 | 15 | 36 | 64 | 95 | 112 | 113 | 119 | 86 | 29 | 4 |
Climate figures: NASA POWER long-term monthly averages for a roughly 50 km area around the city, so rain near hills or the coast can read higher than in the city itself.

Care Tips for Himalayan Kittens
A practical checklist for a medium cat in a Navalgund flat.
- Routine: fixed meals, fixed sleeping spot, one person feeding for the first fortnight.
- Paws: check between the pads after every walk.
- Company: a sweet & calm breed does badly with eleven empty hours. Arrange a break in the day.
- Neighbours: corridor manners in month one buy goodwill you will need later.
- Vet: registered before you need one, not during an emergency.
