Your first fortnight, step by step

Do not introduce a small Scottish Fold to the whole building in week one. Let it learn your flat first. Everything else - lift, lobby, other residents - goes better when the cat already has one place it considers its own.

Health records you should insist on

Insist on originals, not photographs. A genuine record for a Scottish Fold names the vet and carries dates you can verify. It is a two-minute check that separates a documented cat from an undocumented one.

Is a Scottish Fold a sensible choice for you in Heggadadevankote?

You are choosing a 12-15 Years commitment, so be unsentimental for a minute. A small cat in a Heggadadevankote apartment works when the building allows pets, the lift is reliable, and someone can break up the day. Two out of three is usually not enough.

Settling in with children and other pets

Give the resident pet the higher ground and the first choice of space. A new small cat entering an established household is the intruder, and letting the existing animal keep its status shortens the adjustment considerably.
